Description

Japanese Iwate Rare Dried Abalone #589

This premium abalone is perfect for personal enjoyment or as a luxurious gift for festivals, business occasions, or friends and family.

Premium Sweet-Core Yoshihama Abalone from Iwate, Japan
Origin: Iwate Prefecture, Japan
Size:75g~90g each, 4~6pcs per lb

Features:
This premium Yoshihama abalone is sourced from the pristine waters of Yoshihama, Iwate. With only 4–6 abalones per pound, each is plump, firm, and oval “gold ingot” shaped, with thick skirt edges and natural striations. The meat is tender yet firm, offering a rich, sweet, and springy texture.

Using traditional stringing and sun-drying techniques, the abalones naturally curl at both ends, forming a symbolic ingot shape. Over time, the center develops the unique sweet-core (“Tangxin”) texture, with deepening color and intensified aroma, making it one of the finest among Japan’s top three abalones.

Health Benefits:
Abalone is neutral in nature and nourishing without heaviness. High in protein, low in fat and sugar, it supports yin energy, relieves internal heat, and benefits eye health. Regular consumption promotes organ health and strengthens the body.

Recommended Dishes:
Ideal for classic Cantonese braised dishes with old hen, Jinhua ham, or pork ribs, delivering a rich, luxurious flavor.

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Soak in clean water for 1–2 days (depending on size), remove viscera and beak, and clean thoroughly.
  2. Simmer in clean water for 30 minutes, then discard the water.
  3. Replace with fresh water and simmer for 4 hours, adding old hen, pork ribs, or other ingredients.
  4. For larger abalones, simmer for another 4 hours the next day for optimal texture.

Storage: Keep refrigerated at 0–8℃.
