Sliced Cooking (Common Uses: Soup, Stir-Fry, Steaming)
1. Jinhua Ham Soup (e.g., Ham with Winter Melon Soup, Ham and Chicken Soup)
Slice or cut the ham into small pieces.
(Optional) Blanch briefly to remove excess fat and saltiness.
Simmer together with other ingredients such as chicken, winter melon, or bamboo shoots.
2. Steamed Egg or Tofu with Jinhua Ham
Finely mince the ham and sprinkle over beaten eggs or tofu.
Steam for 10–15 minutes until fully cooked and infused with savory flavor.
3. Ham Fried Rice / Stir-Fried Dishes
Dice the ham into small cubes.
Use in fried rice, stir-fried asparagus, stir-fried bamboo shoots, and more.
Adds a rich, savory aroma—be mindful of overall salt content.
Tips:
- Jinhua ham is naturally very salty; avoid adding extra salt or blanch it first to reduce saltiness.
- Store sliced ham in the refrigerator and consume soon after opening.
- The ham bone can be saved for soup—delivers excellent flavor.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, keep refrigerated and consume soon. For longer storage, freezing is recommended.
