This handcrafted teacup captures the essence of Koishiwara-yaki, a traditional pottery style from Toho Village known for its functional beauty and rhythmic carved patterns. The surface features tobi-ganna—a technique where a metal tool “jumps” across the spinning clay to create evenly spaced, textured cuts that bring movement and character to the piece.

The form gently widens toward the rim, offering a comfortable, balanced grip. A rich, iron-like brown glaze accents the rim and flows into a creamy white glaze that covers the lower body, revealing glimpses of the dark brown clay beneath. The contrast of tones and textures highlights the craftsmanship in every detail.
