Description
Lenz is from a respected family estate owned by Werner and Franch Schonleber, which has now been producing wine for nearly 3 centuries! The fruit for Lenz comes from younger vines located on some of their famous vineyards, Halenberg and Fruhlingsplatzchen, fermented dry with indigenous yeasts, and neutral vessels to keep the wine focused on fruit and terroir. The red slate soils trap heat, radiating it back to the grapes, leading to a fuller, spicy and more fruitful wine. Aromas of ripe yellow peach, pomelo, ginger, all framed with a lovely minerality. The palate is crisp and juicy, showing expressive fruit and even whispers of tropical fruit such as passionfruit. This will pair beautifully with sushi, shellfish especially lobster, or for something a bit more out their, Thai lemongrass grilled chicken with just a lick of heat.
