【Production Process】
Traditional Dan Cong craftsmanship involves 6 key steps: 1. Withering: Fresh leaves are sun-dried to reduce moisture and activate enzymes. 2. Yaoqing (Shaking): Leaves are gently shaken in bamboo baskets to promote oxidation and release aroma. 3. Fixation: Stir-frying at high temperature to halt oxidation and lock in flavor. 4. Rolling: Hand-rolled to form tight, curly strips and release internal juices. 5. Oxidation: Controlled fermentation to develop the tea’s distinct floral notes. 6. Roasting: Low-temperature 烘焙 (roasting) with charcoal to enhance complexity and aroma.
【The Dry Tea Leaves】
The dry tea features tightly curled, dark green leaves with hints of golden yellow, adorned with natural white hairs. The aroma is intensely floral, blending notes of osmanthus, orchid, and ripe citrus, with a subtle maltiness.
【Tea Liquor】
Brewed liquor is a bright, amber-gold with a transparent sheen. The texture is smooth and velvety, with a luminous quality that reflects its premium craftsmanship.
【Tea Taste】
On the palate, it delivers a layered sweetness starting with floral notes (reminiscent of magnolia and honey) followed by a rich, fruity undertone. The finish is long-lasting, with a refreshing minerality and no astringency. It retains its complexity through 8–10 infusions, evolving subtly with each steep.
