Moringa leaf is quickly becoming one of the most important and valuable crops in South Asia and across the world. The entire plant – leaves, roots, tubers, seeds and flowers are all edible, so the plant is commonly referred to as “the miracle tree”. The plants themselves are drought tolerant and grow quickly providing farmers with an easily sustainable crop. Moringa is widely grown in locations that may experience food shortages, as it’s able to produce leaves during harsh dry seasons when other food sources may not be available.
The leaves of the moringa shrub are rich in vitamins A, B and C and are a great protein source. The leaves are commonly steeped as a tea or crushed into a fine powder and blended into smoothies. The various amino acids, vitamins and nutrient variation make moringa an excellent addition to your diet to promote overall health.
