Description
Crown Point Vineyards located in Happy Canyon was first founded by Roger Bower with the guidance of Phillipe Melka and Michel Rolland, and now helmed by Simon Faury the current winemaker. The estate is dedicated exclusively to Bordeaux varietials, with a meticulous focus on vineyard management, aiming to producing complex age-worthy wines. The Estate Selection represents the pinnacle of their production, being sourced only from the best parcels, then being aged for 2 years in French oak to further improve and gain in complexity. The wine explodes from the glass with ripe creme de cassis, warmed plums, blackberies, and cedar all while still maintaining a delicacy in the form of dried violets, crushed stones, and graphite. Traditional pairings will be most pleasant here, a fatty dry-aged ribeye steak, or a duck breast au poivre.
